The patchwork of Ro, Shin Kyoung Weaving the network of time, being and relation The genre uniqueness of Korean painting can be found in the material, paper and blank ink. However, the material used in the work of Ro,Shin Kyoung is replaced by colorful cloths in the patchwork and threads used in sewing. It can be said that Ro, Shin Kyoung diversified the material and expanded the expression domain of Korean painting. Material and method always go together and they cannot be separated. Since the material and method changed in Ro,Shin Kyoung’s work, the surface texture and atmosphere are also quite different. Ro, Shin Kyoung creates transparent and subtle background by coating diluted pigment on thick Korean paper. Then she sews smooth curve using thin colored threads.
