About the Item

2024, Shizico Yi takes on an innovative project she named it "The Weaver," inspired by the heritage of family's Tartan, the rich lineage and history of the Clan. Within the patterns of family Tartan, Shizico weaves flora Camellias and the timeless essence of Tartan into a dance of the abstraction and realism. Camellias, known for their delicate and luxurious blooms, emerge around Christmas and persist through into the early spring, heralding the vibrant colours of the season yet to come. Through her artistry, Shizico incorporates the hidden Tartan motifs beneath layers of vibrant paints, seamlessly blending memories of the past ( the tartans) with the vivid reality of the present ( the floras). Each pair of the canvases become a harmonious visual symphony where the past and present converge like a duet of abstract and realism. The use of formation of diptychs further amplifies Shizico's artistic Duet musical dialogue; "The Weaver" inviting viewers into a world where memory and present interweaving in a mesmerizing display of visual creativity. Details 30 cm x 40 cm/ each canvas, the diptych is of 30 x 60 of the total measurement when display. The pair could be framed separately or in a panel together, it gives the collector a chance to play with the design of the frames and a chance to match the colour scheme of your space. Canvas on board, frames in the pictures are not included. About the Artist Shizico Yi is available with GSY Studio or on Official website, just Google : shizico yi Dr. Shizico Yi, the UK artist working on installations, films and paintings; the documentary nature of her work often concerns about the loss, repetition, the everyday subject and memories . With design and film background, Shizico combines her interests making installation projects which relate to artist's personal life in relation to the society and human condition at large. Shizico Yi holds a PhD in Fine Art awarded by UEL, UK 2017; she had completed a Master in Fine Art with a BA in Womenswear from UAL. London.
