When referring to his oil on abstract canvases that glow with yellow, pink, blue and red, he says, "magnificent color is my greatest gift and joy". A California painter, Stephen Henriques is strongly influenced by music; and specifically jazz. 'Tectonic Plates no. 21' is a pure abstraction where color reigns and the senses are dazzled in the composition that is at once, balanced, harmonious and electric.
