About the Item
In Botany, the root system or root system is called the set of roots of the same plant.
As if it were a botanical investigation, I trace the sinuous forms as a semi-figurative
representation of a root system. Expanded, or fragmented, the work is far from a strictly
figurative representation and is carried away by gestures, expressionism and the language
of the abstract.
The nobility of the raw material, fabrics without primer, linen, cotton or textiles found in
antique shops, collide with the hardness of black, an intense black, recognized as the
blackest pigment on the market, absorbing up to 97% of light, resulting in an honest way,
naked, as the only message without distraction from the line.
Each work is a fragment of a single root system, of a single metaphorical tree representing
humanity itself. Thus, all the works, exhibited in this exhibition or not, are connected to
each other, betting on a concept of union, a well-understood globalization in tune with
empathy and respect as the same race. We form the same people with a common destiny.
The integration of economies and cultures, the growing communication and
interdependence of every corner of the planet has been part of our reality for years. But
this global nature of growth must be focused from a look towards union without
extinguishing the brilliance that each culture drags behind it. It is not about a
homogeneous fusion of peoples, but about a support starting from a conscious nucleus in
common as humanity. Globalization is a dynamic process produced by society that has
brought us the computer revolution, and with it, the freedom of knowledge, of
communication, an opening to the world in which the Internet has everything to do.
“Against the kingdom of individualism, I speak of being a community, a society, I speak of
denouncing the passivity that from one side of the root, of humanity, we often have on the
other end, the responsibility of remaining a single people . “
The creation process is undoubtedly an intuitive and organic action, curves and shapes
that show a minimalism closely related to the beauty of nature in its sublime simplicity. A
non-impulsive execution advocating the slowness of the stroke and the continuity of the
sinuous strokes.
The staging of the exhibition aims to introduce the viewer into a space, inside the subsoil.
The ramifications envelop the room, enhancing this investment feeling by the central
sculpture of the exhibition, an imposing piece of 2.30m with no other intention than to
emphasize the wrapping and three-dimensional expression of the plant manifestation.
