'I'll Be Back,' by XVALA is a mixed media painting and colorful screen print with iridescent oil stick painting featuring the theme of the 'New World Order.' It was produced in 2015/16. The phrase 'I'll Be Back' is printed on the top and bottom margins of the work with the words 'New World Order' on the top margin. Three heads are stacked in the center of the canvas with the 'all seeing eye' on the top of the head. XVALA's art illuminates the hidden fallout spawned from our high tech Internet age. His 'Fear Google' campaign exposed the decay of privacy and 'No Delete' used hacked nude celebrity photos to highlight loss of control over personal information. The artist has worked with trash from the homes of Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs, and others, as well as dirt from the graves of George Orwell and Aldous Huxley. In this 36" x 30" oil on canvas painting, 'Glowing,' by Demetrios Papakostas, the artist has created an abstract color field in seemingly three-dimensional geometric formations. The light and dark shapes of varying tones abut one another almost creating a lyrical dance on the canvas. Symbolizing a glowing desert terrain; a minimalist landscape with a molten sunrise captured in blocks of vibrant color. Demetrios Papakostas is a Canadian painter who makes abstract paintings characterized by his passion for bold technical investigation, colour spatial and perception. He works primarily in oil and watercolour and is interested in creating work that highlights his passion for geometric abstraction and colour field paintings. His thoughtful inquiry into the subtleties of the relationship between abstract thinking and the human condition, are characteristic of his deeply held conviction that art must speak from, and to, heart, mind and soul. Born in 1960 in Montreal, Canada, he first became interested in the arts after visiting an artist’s studio while on a family trip to Greece. The artist Tassos Loukithis, was a family friend and it was there after seeing multiple paintings and struck by the beauty of many religious icons hung up all over the artist’s studio that he decided he wanted to draw and paint.
