About the Item

From the project 'ILLUSTRATED POETRY' Original Painting by Vi Kalinski. Ships securely and tracked from London, England. Illustrated Poetry’s mission is to ignite a feeling of independence in expression. Through exploration of Zen’s philosophy on language, and New York School I began to question our ability to proper expression with verbal communication and straight-forward delivery. By creating 12 paintings, music record, video animation, and sculpture - I expressed through visual language, trying to communicate and evoke a strong feeling and indirect conversation between me and the audience. I connected different mediums (it’s a deliberate choice to adopt a medium which perfectly illustrates ones life journey) to show how people can express their feelings without trying to explain them, as we can feel so much but when communicating verbally we can only keep our expression within the bounds of a conversation. '7 Graves' Poem is a painting No. 10 and features additional help from the artist - Agnes Morgan. Piece hand-signed on the back by Vi Kalinski and Agnes Morgan. About the artist: I am a visual artist and musician based in London. Bright, loud colours and abstract perspective are hallmarks of my paintings. In my work, I often experiment with different mediums and practices, drawing inspiration from philosophy, music, nature, movement, and the universe itself. A strong sense of gestural expression is evident in my works. As a painter, I build my methodology around materials, space, and concept when I approach each project. The works I produce represent the creative side of my life. I am inspired by every piece of artwork I see, regardless of whether I connect with it or like it. In order for me to create a piece, I need a great deal of creative inspiration from any place in the world. This slowly builds a desire to create inside of me and erupts when I need it. It seems to me that verbalisation is flawed, as it limits our ability to express ourselves. Therefore, I tend to work with abstract work that can represent more than one thing at a time, or represent nothing at all. I want people to see their entire world in my artworks and feel deeply connected to them. Or they can see nothing at all.
