Amy Myers (b. 1965) is an American artist who is known for her intricate large-scale abstract geometric drawings. Myers creates elaborate images replete with visual allusions to various fields of scientific inquiry. Myers strives to render ineffable dimensions or states of being.
In a new body of work, Myers has painted five large-scale oil paintings on canvas accompanied by a series of smaller gouache paintings rendered on silk. Myers' compositions evoke motion, fluidity and a startling sense of void.
In "Its Own Array (In Perpetuity)", Myers paints an ethereal microscopic universe that feels both familiar and indeterminate. Myers' small composition draws attention to the intricacies of space, theoretical physics, and the hand.
This work is currently on display in Malin Gallery, based in New York. The work will not ship until after the show which ends November 16.
