About the Item
ANDRZEJ FOGTT (born in 1950) He graduated from the PWSSP in Poznań in 1974 where he studied in the studios of prof. Z.Kępiński and M. Abakanowicz. Initially, his art was considered to be "new figuration", but later, he developed his own individual artistic language. His paintings are covered with colorful expressive spots and create an illusion of three-dimensional. In 1984, Fogtt won the Grand Prix at the Festival of Polish Contemporary Painting in Szczecin. He then represented Polish art at the Venice Biennale in 1989. He created a remarcable project titled “Tower of European unity", to be a world center of organizations dealing with humanitarian aid.
PROVENANCE:
The Gallery of Katarzyna Napiorkowska is one of the first commercial art galleries in Poland. For over 30 years, the gallery has been presenting contemporary paintings, graphics, drawings, and sculptures. Our galleries are located in Warsaw and Brussels. The portfolio of the Gallery includes over 2,000 selected objects of renowned Polish artists. In 2015, our Gallery was awarded the prestigious title of the Ambassador of the Polish Economy in the European Brand category awarded by the Business Center Club.
