2022
About the Item
This piece is a charcoal sketch with a light lyrical addition of watercolor. The artist captures the delicate sensitivity of horses standing still and in motion.
Artist bio:
Cecil K. was born in Uzbekistan in 1963. His first artistic experience was in sixth grade sketching a horse and from that day on, sketching with pencil was one of his favorite hobbies. He attended high school in the late 1970s, then attended art university from 1978 to 1982. He obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts and painted often, only taking a hiatus while he served in the Uzbek army from 1982 to 1984. Upon returning from active duty, he began working at a textile factory and married his childhood sweetheart, Saira. Together they have two children, a son named Arsen and a daughter named Fatima
In 1989, Cecil moved to Krasnadar, Russia and in 1998 he relocated to Antalya, Turkey where he started to work in advertising. The creativity of advertising unearthed his love of painting and he continued to pursue his talents during this time in his life. For the following eight years, Cecil would move back and forth between Turkey and Russia.
In April 2005, political turmoil in Russia forced Cecil to immigrate to the United States under refugee status. With the help of family already there, Cecil and his family made their way to Atlanta where he found himself painting more regularly and with a greater emotional depth than ever before. An acquaintance suggested he begin selling his artwork to local galleries. He was making a living selling his artwork for the first time, a period he fondly remembers this as the most exhilarating time of his life.
Inspired by great artists of history, Cecil K began painting his landscapes with an open, clear mind and let the painting guide him. Armed with nothing but a pallet knife and seven base colors, he is able to create very recognizable artwork that portrays great emotion in any color imaginable.

- Leap, Watercolour on Paper, Yellow , Brown White Color "In Stock"By Prashant SalviLocated in Kolkata, West BengalPrashant Salvi Leap, Watercolour, Acrylic, Charcoal on Paper 22 x 30 inches, 2016 (shipped in a roll form) "I have built my career on surrealist,anatomical/botanical fantasies; beautifully rendered yet sometimes haunting and gruesome, void of irony and done with absolute sincerity. My work builds meaning primarily by exploring the unbridgeable difference between animals and people. A proactive imagery of humans and animals suggests an investigation of linguistics, the natural sciences and human sociology all in respect to the parallel universe of other species alongside us. I use a seemingly detached abstraction as a counter-point, tomy- stylised fabrications of sexual desire"- Prashant Salvi An undercurrent of eroticism, viewed with a steady detachment often can be part of Salvi's works, morphing human and animal forms and throwing psychological riddles challenging the viewer to decide where life begins or ends. Salvi's watercolours with its technical virtuosity turn images from nature to a surrealistic dance of survival. The works are challenging, complex and magically real and acknowledge life’s gentleness and aggressiveness in unison. While nature’s logic could be used to argue the very existence of an omnipotent creator, Salvi, paradoxically suggests ambiguity to life's bigger and deeper questions; answers of which he feels don't come in neat packages. - Beautiful Water Color Painting on Recycled Books, Elephant LoversBy Arozarena De La FuenteLocated in Mexico City, MXThe two artists and industrial designers, Ampi Arozarena and Elena De La Fuente describe form and color as their core of exploration. They admire the dual identity the two elements create in their works of art. They are driven by the optical and physical sensation materials become on their unique canvasses. Projected shadows upon their work are also an important factor, this effect is generated in these two works with a 3D abstract placement of the main elements. It´s unique and neutral colors are also very easy to combine in any surrounding. This outstanding book canvass is handmade from abandoned and rescued books in an old library found in the Center of Mexico City. The two artists decided to give new life to them with this outstanding piece. It took them 5 complete months to make. It is also extremely easy to install for it comes in separate book strands...Category
