About the Item
This original oil and acrylic painting on canvas is in Ceravolo's world famous Urban Pop style, which has captivated Ceravolo collectors like, SIR ELTON JOHN, ROD STEWART, HUGH M. HEFNER, ALICE COOPER and PRINCE JEFRI of BRUNEI to name only a few. Ceravolo has featured "G" his cute gopher muse and a shadow of "Baylie" his cat in this painting. Hence the title "Cat and G". Ceravolo's paintings combine abstract and realistic work on the same canvas. On this canvas, the abstract work is a spontaneous application of paint which adds color and texture and is in perfect compliment to the gray realistic figure of "G" his gopher muse. The abstract areas of the canvas contrast with the realistic images in this painting that is an important characteristic of Ceravolo's work. As you explore and study this canvas you discover more and more of the energy within this work of art. He has painted "G" holding a paint brush with silver gray paint as if G added the stencil letter G to the canvas.
Ceravolo's paintings have received international acclaim for more four decades. His art rose to acclaim when he was commissioned to create six large scale paintings for the lobby of The Palladium Theatre in New York City of Frank Zappa, Linda Ronstadt, Neil Young, Jackson Browne and Hall and Oates. In addition to these, his paintings are in many influential corporate and private collections worldwide.

Ceravolo
The paintings of Ceravolo can be found in many influential corporate and private collections, including: ELTON JOHN, ROD STEWART, HUGH M. HEFNER, PETE DAVIDSON, GRANT CARDONE, DAVID BRENNER, MONIQUE VAN VOOREN, WARNER BROS., RCA RECORDS AND SCHENLEY INDUSTRIES to name a few. His art came to popular attention when he was commissioned to create five large scale paintings for the lobby of The Palladium Theatre in New York City. The large oil paintings were of legendary Superstars in the music business, Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt, Frank Zappa, Neil Young and Hall and Oates. Ceravolo started to add abstract elements to his realistic figurative oil paintings and he coined the term Portrait Illusions in 1979 which referred to the appearance of the finished painting where the color abstract areas of the painting gave the illusion that they were "floating" in front of the realistic figure which he painted in values of Gray, Black and White on the canvas. This unique technique caught the eye of many collectors and galleries and brought the work of Ceravolo to a worldwide audience. He works at his Hampton's studio creating his Urban POP paintings where he still combines colorful abstract elements with Black, White and Gray figurative images.
