In this work, Iryna Burda explores the tense interplay between chaos and order as a foundation of human existence. The composition draws inspiration from Carl Gustav Jung’s concepts of the shadow, archetypes, and the integration of the unconscious. Through interwoven organic forms, the artist portrays the polyphony of inner voices — demons, fears, and subconscious impulses — that paradoxically create the very structure of the self.
The painting’s structure reflects postmodern fragmentation: there is no central narrative or focal point, only a multiplicity of forms and meanings. Christian allusions — including symbols of sacrifice, redemption, and rebirth — contrast with the raw energy of chaos, reminding us of the eternal struggle between spirit and flesh.
This work is not about chaos as destruction, but as a condition for growth. Stability here is not a rigid order, but the capacity to endure internal dissonance without losing oneself
