James McGinleyBulls Grazing, original 24x40 expressionist animal landscape
About the Item
Bull! Whether on Wall Street or in the legendary bullrings of Spain these powerful beasts demand immediate attention and respect! The trio, during their midday grazing, keep one eye on their surroundings while nourishment prepares them for the glory and unknown ahead. Artist James McGinley's use of a golden background with like coloration for their feed reminds the viewer that the heat is always on in this original expressionist oil painting. James McGinley, former chairman of the fine art department of the famed Newark School of Fine and Industrial Art, was given a full scholarship to study in Spain, at the prestigious Real Academia de Bella Artes de San Fernando, where Francisco Goya was the first director, upon graduating from the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Art himself. He has painted and shown his work internationally for sixty five years. The unframed size of this rare original oil painting is 24x40; it was framed by the artist in a somewhat distressed, custom frame that was made in California. McGinley's illustrious career has gained him broad acclaim and across the USA. James McGinley passed away in 2021.
