Joseph SundwallBirds of a Feather, original 30 x 30 realist marine landscape
About the Item
The summer may be winding down but your love of the sea never seems to. Birds of a feather also extends to those strong willed, hearty beach friends, the seagulls! They keep us company through thick or thin! Realist painter Joseph Sundwall has created a portrait of a cluster of seagulls sunning themselves, perhaps waiting for the next batch of mussels to wash up to shore for a sumptuous dinner treat. Sundwall is both an accomplished realist and figurative portrait painter with both skills exquisitely on display in this timeless marine landscape. Joseph Sundwall grew up in Chicago where his artistic talents were recognized early on. He studied his trade at the Kansas City Art Institute, the famed Art Students League and National Academy of Design in NYC followed by added training in London at the St. Oswald Studios. His instructors included such luminaries as Everett Kinstler and David Leffel. While always seeking minimalism in his compositions, Sundwall's ability to combine styles and techniques with varied subject matter is quite exceptional. To significant acclaim, Sundwall original oil paintings are in private collections throughout the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and continental Europe. Sundwall has framed this piece in a slightly distressed and burnished frame which compliments the jetty rocks; the framed size is 38x38.
