Lion and Lioness On The Hunt
Oil on canvas signed and dated 1933 lower right.
The canvas is mounted in a frame called "Berain style” inherited from the Louis XIV Period.

Georges-Frédéric Rötig was a French painter and illustrator born in Le Havre on 1st October 1873 and died in Paris on 20 August 1961.
He was a student at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris and was taught by Jules Lefebvre, Jean-Pierre Laurens and Benjamin-Constant.
He received several awards at the Salon des artistes français (notably in 1903) and, in 1913, the Rosa-Bonheur prize.
The work of Georges-Frédéric Rötig is that of a wildlife artist.
Several of his paintings are preserved in public collections, at the André-Malraux Museum of Modern Art in Le Havre, the Museum of Picardie in Amiens, the Museum of Cambrai and the Museum Alphonse-Georges-Poulain in Vernon.
