About the Item

Nocturnal Melody 26 is a unique painting by contemporary artist Hongyu Zhang. The painting is made with Indian Ink, acrylic, charcoal, pastel and engraving on grey cardboard mounted on stetcher. Dimensions are 194 × 130 cm (76.4 × 51.2 in). Framed dimensions are 200 x 135 cm (78.7 × 53.2 in). The artwork is signed, sold framed (black shadow box) and comes with a certificate of authenticity. This striking mixed-media work offers an abstract interpretation of galloping horses, brought to life through a rich combination of techniques. Executed on grey cardboard mounted on a stretcher, the composition features a highly textured surface that captures the viewer’s attention through its dynamic gestures and layered materials. Fragments of equine forms emerge from bold, angular strokes, suggesting motion and disintegration. Flashes of intense orange punctuate the largely monochrome palette, injecting energy and urgency into the dark, atmospheric background.
