Bernd Haussmann
BERND HAUSSMANN is a German-born abstract artist, working since the 1990s as a US resident and now dividing his time between the north shore of Boston and in western Maine. Haussmann’s work is internationally exhibited, and hangs in numerous private, corporate, and museum collections around the world. He has taught at several American universities and colleges, and in more recent years has also been teaching mindfulness - art workshops in Iceland, Germany, and the US. Haussmann embraces his audience with environmental inclusionary, interactive projects and collaborations. One such approach was his engagement with scientists in a non-verbal dialogue, "Dialogues" as artist-in-residence at the Broad Institute of Harvard and MIT from 2012 to 2015. Presently, Haussmann is working at his studio in Maine where he also works with his wife Anne on a 450-acre nature project.
