About the Item

In a stylistic amalgam of Pop and folk, abstract and figurative, I take inspiration from an alternative upbringing where I closely connected with the natural landscape around me. Born and raised in Cuba shaped my perspective on nature and how humans interact with land, animals and each other. I employ a Naïve Folk-Art style to explore questions of identity, love, relationship and environment in our society. My paintings often had strong autobiographical elements and mixed realism with fantasy. I make personal womens experiences serious subjects for art, with intense emotional content, powerful and intimate narratives. Greatly influenced by modern masters from Cezanne, Henri Matisse to Frida Kahlo :: Painting :: Contemporary :: This piece comes with an official certificate of authenticity signed by the artist :: Ready to Hang: Yes :: Signed: Yes :: Signature Location: Front and Back :: Canvas :: Landscape :: Original :: Framed: No
