About the Item
This is a view of the Comares Tower and the exterior of other buildings from the Alcazaba. The Comares Tower is a Tower-Palace, one of the most beautiful and imposing of the Alhambra, full of legends and stories. It is possible to appreciate, thanks to the vegetation, the existing balance between architecture and nature. The marked contrast of warm and cold tones by the light of the sunset, is accentuated with the strict straight lines of the architecture. The technique used is oil on canvas, using thick strokes with brush and palette knife. The artist, when making this work, is inspired by the landscapes of southern Spain and the people who live there. He tries to capture the sensations of contemplating such beautiful places. Light and color serve to transmit that harmonious integration of people in the rural and natural environment. You can appreciate the characteristic architecture of this area and the vegetation. The technique is based on a direct pictorial treatment "alla prima", without using previous drawing.
