About the Item
"Her" by Aba Linus is a striking testament to the power of visual storytelling and the celebration of feminine strength and elegance. In this captivating artwork, a young woman is portrayed wearing a bold red inner, exuding confidence in a stylish suit. The piece is punctuated by a singular red rose delicately placed in the suit's pocket, serving as both an accessory and a symbolic touch.
The red inner and suit speak volumes about the woman's assertiveness and sophistication, while the addition of the red rose introduces a layer of romanticism and passion to the composition. Aba Linus masterfully captures the fusion of strength and softness, creating a harmonious balance that underscores the multifaceted nature of the feminine spirit.
The interplay of light and shadow enhances the contours of the woman's figure and adds depth to the overall visual narrative. "Her" is not just a portrait; it's a celebration of individuality, style, and the subtle nuances that make each woman unique. Aba Linus invites viewers to appreciate the amalgamation of boldness and grace, making "Her" a timeless ode to the empowering essence of womanhood.

- Await For DesireLocated in Ibadan, OyoAt the center of "Await For Desire" stands a young woman, her expression laden with introspection. Her captivating gaze invites viewers to explore the depths of their own desires and longings. Mayowa's depiction of the woman symbolizes the human capacity for introspection and the journey of self-discovery. Her youth suggests a sense of innocence as if she is at the precipice of embarking on a profound exploration of her desires, dreams, and aspirations. The rose flower held gently in the young woman's hand adds a layer of intrigue to the artwork. Roses have long been associated with love, desire, and beauty. In this context, the rose becomes a metaphor for the desires that lie within each of us, waiting to be explored and embraced. The delicacy with which the young woman holds the rose signifies the fragility and vulnerability of these desires. The petals, beautifully rendered by Mayowa, exude a sense of purity and grace, mirroring the young woman's own essence. The title of the artwork, "Await For Desire," suggests a period of patient waiting and introspection. Mayowa invites viewers to contemplate the nature of desire and the role it plays in shaping our lives. The young woman's expression implies a moment of deep reflection as if she is on the cusp of a significant realization or decision. This evokes a sense of intrigue, urging viewers to reflect on their own desires, their significance, and the choices that emerge from such introspection. Akingbade Mayowa...Category

- Local #2Located in Nashville, TNArtist Nathaniel Covington constructs bold, colorfully sculpted papier-mâché monster masks and large, pop art creature paintings. His art pieces have simple lines, set against solid color backgrounds. For Nathaniel, the process starts with rough sketches on paper, wood, skateboards - just about anything he can draw on, allowing him the vision to finalize his art. The making of masks started about 3 years ago and he fell in love with the process. It’s an opportunity to bring to life all the “Creatures” and wildly funny things living in my head. He says, "I’d like the art pieces that I make to evoke some sort of emotion when they are seen.” He’s predominately influenced by 1969’s-1980’s “Creature Feature Films”, horror soundtracks, Sci-Fi magazines, plus a dash of Ed Roth.Category
