About the Item

I'm a prisoner of this hue. A figure who comes to the threshold and impassively looks this way. Unable to enter and trapped by the rolling storm in her heart. But I have gone beyond being demonstrative, now I look emotionless and glad that life is an approaching its end. A strange card to the wail of the unseen host, somewhere in Africa across the fields, turning over an unfortunate card and laying them slickly in the firelight, winking in such dark, knowing eyes. I was passing at some distance, circled and charmed to all ends, painting the figure in place of any other kind of sustenance, yet distracted and possessed by one who would undoubtedly deny it. One who would claim to have never had my name. Painting Ships in a well-protected tube from Nigeria This work is unique, not a print or other type of copy. Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
