"The Flower Enchantress", is an original oil painting on linen canvas by Andrée Bars.
In this mysterious and elegant painting, artist Andrée Bars pays a sensitive and personal tribute to Victorian painter Lawrence Alma-Tadema, renowned for his depictions of festive scenes filled with music and flowers bathed in light. Here, however, the atmosphere is quite different: muted, suspended in an air of unreality.
Entirely draped in white, with eyes blindfolded, the central figure is neither entirely human nor entirely spectral. Seated cross-legged, she plays a double flute, releasing a silent yet powerfully evocative music. It is to the sound of this invisible melody that rose petals come to life, appearing to dance, float, and unfold in a hypnotic choreography.
The Flower Enchantress does not seduce with words or gaze — she enchants through vibration, through the very essence of invisible art: music, pure poetry. Enchanting and serene, this work evokes a world where beauty is not conquered but gently tamed.

Having been strictly trained for 4 years by the American hyper-realist painter Mr. Ted Seth Jacobs, who himself inherited 19th century masters’ skills from his own professor, Andrée Bars learned the profession of painting in its purest tradition. She still applies these ancient masters’ technics on her art. Each painting contains at least three layers of oil paint. Andrée Bars applies her skills to hyper-realism on surrealist ideas.
Although her paintings copy the reality to the extreme, they can not be qualified in a simple term of hyperrealism nor of trompe-l’oeil style, her artworks distinguish themselves for a kind of mysterious sweetness they convey to the spectator.
