Around the armillary sphere, wooden carousel horses are depicted in mid-gallop, their colorful saddles and bridles adding a vibrant contrast to the metallic gold of the armillary rings. She still applies these ancient masters’ technics on her art. Each painting contains at least three layers of oil paint. Andrée Bars applies her skills to hyper-realism on surrealist ideas.
Although her paintings copy the reality to the extreme, they can not be qualified in a simple term of hyperrealism nor of trompe-l’oeil style, her artworks distinguish themselves for a kind of mysterious sweetness they convey to the spectator.
