Areg Elibekian
Areg Elibekian, born on June 29, 1970, in Yerevan, Armenia, inherits an artistic legacy that courses through his veins. The son of the esteemed painter Robert Elibekian, Areg's journey into the world of art began against the backdrop of Armenia's rich cultural tapestry. From 1987 to 1992, Areg immersed himself in the study of art at the Yerevan Arts and Theatre Institute, honing his skills and cultivating his unique artistic voice. However, in 1992, he embarked on a new chapter, relocating to Montreal, Canada, where he has since made his home.
Areg's artwork transcends borders, embodying the spirit of his multicultural experiences. Inspired by his travels to Paris and Montreal, his paintings evoke the bustling energy of urban life and the serene beauty of nature. Influenced by the Impressionist movement, Areg's canvases burst with vibrant colors and dynamic brushstrokes, capturing fleeting moments with unparalleled grace.
Throughout his career, Areg's work has been showcased in prestigious exhibitions across the globe, from Armenia to France, Lebanon, Canada, and the United States. His paintings adorn the walls of esteemed institutions such as the Modern Art Museum of Yerevan and the Alex & Marie Manoogian Museum of Detroit, leaving an indelible mark on the international art scene.
In addition to his prolific career as a painter, Areg Elibekian has also served as an art instructor at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts since 2009, sharing his passion for art with aspiring artists and enthusiasts alike.
