Bello Gabriel
In the Shadow of Sunset -21st Century, Contemporary, Impressionism, Nature Women

2024

About the Item

Life, too, has its sunsets. Challenges and setbacks often cloud our horizons, casting shadows on our aspirations. We find ourselves questioning our abilities, our choices, and our worth in these moments. It is easy to yield to the darkness, but much like the sunset, it’s these very challenges that mould us. They bring out the latent potential within us, urging us to rise above the adversities. Life’s difficulties, much like the changing colors of the evening sky, push us to adapt, evolve, and discover our inner strength. Our struggles refine us teaching us endurance, patience and the art of letting go. Each setback is a stepping stone, each obstacle a lesson, and each closed door, an opportunity to explore new avenues. Much like the sun that rises again, we too can emerge from our darkest hours, stronger and more resilient than before. - ShriNiddhi Vyas. Shipping Procedure Ships in a well-protected tube from Nigeria This work is unique, not a print or other type of copy. Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity (Issued by the Gallery) About Artist My name is Bello Gabriel, I'm an impressionist and a figurative artist. My art started when I was very little. I love playing with colors and drawing comics. Little did I know then that I was going to be an artist because I was not focused on that area, I just see art as a talent and not a profession. But in a long run after high school, I studied art at one of the prestigious institutions in Lagos, Nigeria. Yaba College of Technology, Yabatech. And now I’m a full-time studio artist. I love painting in blue and orange renditions because blue is a natural color that accords freedom confidence, intuition, and faith. And orange, associated with optimism and energy. So I combined these two colors together to produce meaningful and exceptional works of art. My paintings talk about the daily life of people in society, the struggles, attempts, and efforts towards human survival, and many more. My painting is a consistent search for the best way to interpret the common ideas I have about people in the society we found ourselves in and the world we all live in. My works are not limited to one particular background. Inspiration and ideas change. Each piece I create is simultaneously a stretch from my discovery and observation of my society and the world at large. I do not want my art to speak for me alone, but for people who are being deprived of their rights and value, who were long ago silenced. If an onlooker stops for just a moment to view and ruminate on a piece I have created, then I have done well in my work.

Blue Sky - Original Sally K Figurative Artwork
By Sally K
Located in Los Angeles, CA
As your gaze lingers on one of Sally K’s paintings, you notice how Sally’s brush strokes add playfulness and life to the canvas, incorporating unexpected images and shapes of flowers, or abstract color combinations to convey the vibrant beauty of a woman’s hair. Sally K was born in Ohio following her family’s emigration from Lebanon. Shortly after her birth, her family moved to Saudi Arabia, where she stayed until she was 14. Sally then attended high school and college in Beirut, where she graduated with a BA in Fine Arts with distinction from the Lebanese American University of Beirut. In 2013, Sally and her family moved back to the United States and she now works out of her studio in California. This vibrant 46-inch high by 79-inch wide painting is created with acrylic paint on canvas. It is stretched, wired, and ready to hang. This floral figurative artwork is signed by the artist on the front of the artwork. The sides are a continuation of the painting and it does not require framing. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Convenient U.S. and global shipping available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included. The focus of Sally’s portraits is contemporary women. Her style merges characteristics of abstract expressionism with realism and portrait painting to convey, not just the beauty of women, but their confidence and strength as well. They are women that are alluring, flirtatious, and demure, with femininity that Sally imbues with what she describes as the “sensuality, independence, and confidence you see in strong women.” Sally’s portraits of women are intensely personal. “The women I paint are an extension of me, of what I feel, how I process my surroundings, my thoughts, my angers, my pleasures. They’re the confident strong women that I strive to be. Sometimes tough and daring, sometimes shy and reserved, but always self-assured and determined; they represent what captivates me in other women; the qualities I admire, and strengths that I strive to gain.” Sally draws inspiration from photography, pop culture, and fashion as well as artists ranging from Willem de Kooning and Jackson Pollock to Gustav Klimt. Her highly regarded paintings have been featured in group and solo shows in Beirut, Dubai, Italy, and the USA.
