the shore. Everyone is looking out to sea - at the distant sailboats near the horizon — or the lifeguard shouting a warning — bathers bobbing in the surf. Carole Garland captures the spirit of the warm, sunny day and allows the viewers to spend a few moments at the beach and remember their own experience of relaxing into oblivion while staring into infinity.
