About the Item
Luigi Pietro is a unique drawing by contemporary artist Cécile Bisciglia. The drawing is made with ballpoint pen on canvas, dimensions are 200 × 200 cm (78.7 × 78.7 in).
The artwork is signed, sold unframed and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Portraits by Bisciglia emphasize the eyes. These enormous eyes that follow us and keep an eye on us make the presence of the model both mysterious and intense.
Bisciglia has dedicated herself to creating large-scale drawings with a BIC ball-point pen since 2009. The originality of her work comes from the fusion of her academic drawing abilities and her proficiency with a basic tool, a biro. A ballpoint pen gives her the same graphic finesse as a pencil would, and it has the added benefit of being indelible. Depending on the pressure and/or inclination used, her skill with this instrument enables her to obtain various shades of grey. Bisciglia fights a real battle with the painter's own medium, the canvas.
