About the Item
This original acrylic, enamel, oil stick and metallic spray paint on silkscreen board by Ceravolo titled "Woman 1" is from the Women series of paintings he is currently creating. The title refers to Dekooning's series of paintings started in the 1950's. Even though, as Ceravolo says, it does not resemble Dekoonings woman series it has to him the inspiration from them. It is a modern take of gestural brush strokes and oil stick movement combined with a woman's figure that reflects that feel.
Ceravolo's world famous Urban Pop style of painting, has captivated collectors like, SIR ELTON JOHN, ROD STEWART, HUGH M. HEFNER, ALICE COOPER and PRINCE JEFRI of BRUNEI to name only a few. Ceravolo's paintings combine abstract and realistic work on the same large scale canvas. On this work the abstract work is a spontaneous application of paint which adds color and texture while blocking certain areas of the models figure while subtlety exposing other areas The abstract areas of the canvas contrast glossy with matte , thick textures with light washes of color and throughout the work there is an energy and spontaneity that is characteristic of Ceravolo's work. As you explore and study "Woman 1" you discover more and more of the energy within this work of art.

Ceravolo's Large scale paintings have received international acclaim for more four decades. His art rose to acclaim when he was commissioned to create six large scale paintings for the lobby of The Palladium Theatre in New York City of Frank Zappa, Linda Ronstadt, Neil Young, Jackson Browne and Hall and Oates. In addition to these, his paintings are in many influential corporate and private collections worldwide.
