About the Item
Boskoop is a painting by French contemporary artist Christophe Dupety. Dimensions are 97 x 130 cm (38.2 × 51.2 in).
This oil on canvas invites the viewer into a dreamlike vision of blossoming flowers, where vibrant pinks, lilacs, and soft whites burst against a luminous blue sky, their petals swirling in a dance of light and color.
In this series, Christophe Dupety turns to floral motifs—not to capture them with precise drawing, but to convey a sensation, an impression: the grace of a corolla, the harmony of hues, the sheer exuberance of flowering itself.
The painting embodies the artist’s philosophy, which he defines as the pursuit of “the joy of painting—color, fluidity, spontaneity.” His gestures, sharp and vigorous, remain visibly etched on the surface, while he also welcomes “accidents”—drops and drips—that, in his words, “can sometimes add to a work: energy, joy, the unexpected.”
Through this radiant explosion of color, at once dynamic and uplifting, Dupety offers a true ode to nature and to life. Favoring a direct, accessible style, he aims to awaken an immediate emotional response in the viewer.

Christophe Dupety
Christophe Dupety’s paintings express the vitality and spontaneity of gesture, free of all interference. They also reflect a taste for taking risks: refusing to control everything but, on the contrary, wanting to confront the chaos of life by involving phenomena linked to weightlessness, flow and accidents. For the artist, these can be used in a way that contributes to what he wants us to see: the joy of painting. An artist who favours a form of painting that can be read immediately, Christophe Dupety seeks to encourage a spontaneous emotional response in the viewer. “I always try to emphasise the joy of painting in my work: colour, shape and fluidity, and above all a sort of graphic challenge in which things always seem spontaneous and graphic in any case, because drawing has always been very important for me.’’
