About the Item
"2/3" by Conrado López is a delicate yet expressive 2024 artwork, utilizing acrylic, gold leaf and oil on a canvas sized at 15.75 x 15.75 in (40 x 40cm).
This piece is a prime example of López's expertise in capturing the human essence on a small scale. Each stroke and color choice within the painting is deliberate, contributing to the overall depth and emotion conveyed through the subject's visage. The artist's use of impasto techniques adds a sculptural quality to the work, with the paint itself becoming a landscape of texture upon the canvas.
Born in 1992, Jerez de la Frontera, Andalusia (Spain), Conrado has been performing his style in the world of street graffiti as “Size92”. The walls and some of his closest friends of Jerez de la Frontera, the city where he grew up, only know the quality of his street artworks.
Then, Conrado studied higher illustration at the José Nogué Art School in Jaén, and, in 2016, he decided to move to London. The British Capital, culturally very active, became the place of his first exhibitions, notably at the Brick Lane Gallery in THE trendy district of Shoreditch.
Although graffiti is the essence of his artistic approach, Conrado is constantly enriching his technique to diversify his creative universe. After having approached and explored his everyday life by revisiting the concept of still lifes (using shoe boxes, spray cans) and direct and lively portraits, Conrado has recently turned to nude studies.
Thanks to strong and audacious flat tints, he infuses his models with a lot of power and energy. His very expressive nudes are animated by a beautiful aesthetic force. The staging, the composition, the colour contrasts, everything aims to sublimate the model, to explore its beauty and sensuality.
