It was formed in Buenos Aires, in the Circle of San Lucas of Barcelona and the FAD.
He was friend and companion of Joan Sandalines and Sebastià Gasch. From 1928 he exhibited in Barcelona and, in the postwar period, also in Mallorca.
He was awarded in the contest of the Mediterranean Games (1955). Against avant-garde academicism and art for art, he painted work, miserable, prostitutes, immigrants, and has been considered the best representative of social realism in Spain.
In his production we must distinguish three stages: until 1938, related to Cubism, Leger, the one from 1939 to 1958, closer to Marie Blanchard, and the third, motivated by his failure before official criticism, on the one hand, and before the new avant-garde, on the other, and in which he shied away from any public demonstration and made works of a more conventional technique and a cruder theme, partially included in the 1966 retrospective exhibition in Barcelona.
