About the Item
The centerpieces of Ekaterina’s paintings are feminine forms that, sensuously but self-assuredly identify themselves with their role. Along with single figures, we also find groups or pairs of women touching, caressing, or casting each other promising glances. Expressive faces with large, bright almond eyes, much like those of the artist herself. The erotic depiction as it is expressed here has a very personal characteristic. Perhaps this authenticity is the deciding factor in its effect. Ekaterina’s paintings are in a sense a painted diary of sensual daydreams. Dreams which, deep down, many of us share.
Ekaterina Moré´s work touches the emotional world of the viewer in a most pleasant fashion. Her sensitive grasp of the interaction between color and form is the basis for her impressive compositions.
This one-of-a-kind 28" tall by 38" wide original artwork is wired and ready to hang. The sides of this unique artwork are painted black. It does not require framing. Her central theme is the depiction of sensuality laced with erotic suspense. Eroticism in art lives from the concept of suggestion. It is the openness of a scene that stimulates the imagination of the viewer, an openness that leaves room for interpretation without confinement. The key word here is equivocation. The pictures are deciphered with the aid of experiences and desires arising from the viewer’s interpretations. Eroticism can be defined as floating on the fine line between possibility and reality. Ekaterina Moré creates an arc of suspense that comes alive in the depiction. The dynamics are chosen in such a way as to allow the artist’s romanticism to culminate into ever-greater climaxes.
Ekaterina’s nymph-like figures are a product of fantasy, symbolizing an ideal world and creating a positive diametric to reality, where truly important matters are often left unattended or become displaced by life’s daily struggle: self-confident, attractive women who, just as the artist herself, are masters of their own destiny, women who really know what is good for them. The desire for fondness, tenderness, trust, and security, as well as the excitement that one finds in lively, fulfilled eroticism, are some of the greatest human wants. However, Ekaterina has also gone beyond painting and the world of art to broaden her dreams. They can be seen on porcelain cups and plates by Rosenthal – an arrangement for special events. The elegant cocktail bar of the Maritim Hotel in Berlin also serves as a setting for the artist’s works.
If one visits Ekaterina Moré in her new studio in Neuss and observes her at work, one gets the impression that she has come very close to realizing her life’s dream in the last few years. Nevertheless, she is anything but demure and has worked hard for her success. She grew up in St. Petersburg, the Russian cultural metropolis. As a child, she was exposed to and came to love some of the world’s most significant works of art which had found their way into the Hermitage. Early on, her talent was recognized and fostered by her parents, both artists themselves, as well as her teachers. Even as a young child, she spent much of her time drawing and painting. Since the 1990’s, she has been living in the Rhineland. - Dr. Helmut Orpel, March 2006

One of the most popular series of the Master Artist, The Golden Flute is the artists more romantic renedition of Art. The iconic figures of Krishna, Radha, and Ganesha that found lyrical expression in the Icons series are modern representations and sophisticated idealizations of the same images in the popular media.
Krishna is a cosmic musician, and the tune he creates by playing his transcendental flute is embodied with cosmic energy. When Krishna is depicted as being between the age of 5 and 8, it is always with his flute. Therefore, during this period, he is aptly called Murlidhara (murali means “flute,” and dhara means “hold”), signifying the one who holds the flute. He is never without it, whether he is with his mother, on the grazing grounds with his herd of cows, among his cowherd companions or roaming around on the Jamuna banks. Gopis lose their selves in this tune. For them, music becomes the voice of love, which is too passionate and secretive.
Style :
The city of Kolkata has always figured prominently in his work. His themes come from his personal interactions with its urban milieu - its sickness and sordidness, its violence and vulnerability and all that compounds its existential agony. Shuvaprasanna has depicted varying moods of the city and its people, its places, and all its facets that make the city distinctive.
He doesn't merely portray reality as 'matter of fact' and his presentation of reality often has dream-like elements in it. In terms of technique, Shuvaprasanna boasts a precise, finely executed style that yields an unmistakable visual intensity. He works comfortably in an assortment of media, including oil on canvas, charcoal, and mixed media.

BIO:
Daniel Jefferson AKA "Bipolar Holiday" is a self-taught street artist. A native of St. Louis, he grew up in North St. Louis County in the cities of Normandy and Hazelwood. By the age of 3, he was drawing and painting alongside his father and together they shared studios and collaborations into his mid-20s.
His father grew up in Tupelo, Mississippi and his mother in St. Louis. Expounding on his family history, Holiday speaks of his Quaker and Native American ancestry - along with his father, who is black, and his mother who is white - as forming his multiracial identity and upbringing. He expresses “not always fitting in,” - being neither “this nor that” - and residing on the margins between the social constructs of race. This emotional state is reflected in his artistic output. He cautions us to see that, while the subject matter of his work is not always a direct depiction of his experience of race, his existence as a person of color propels him and bears directly on his artistic focus and choice of materials, along with the application and gesture in each work. Anger and sadness are part of it – also love, joy, pride and humility. The artist often signs his work with a mark inspired by the ancient Egyptian Eye of Horas – a symbol of power, protection, and health.
Throughout his career, Bipolar Holiday has been both a solo practitioner and a collaborator. Tagging as King Dee and later Melo, he worked variously in the St. Louis area from the mid- 1990s to early 2000s. In the 1990s, he painted with the then St. Louis-based graffiti artist Nick Miller and his crew. Choice spots ranged from free standing concrete walls on abandoned property to temporary fencing along construction sites. The artist's compositions contained expressive line and figural elements – human faces, eyes – and the ethereal and allegorical – angel, devil motifs, etc. Later, he moved his artistic focus to a more studio-based form starting in the early 2000s. Holiday had his first show alongside his father’s work at Urbis-Orbis Gallery in downtown St. Louis in 2003. Coming full circle, he occasionally works in a few items of collage or spontaneous marks made by his daughter during her early childhood.
Bipolar Holiday has exhibited his work both locally and globally including St. Louis, New York, Grand Rapids and Antwerp. In 2019, he was featured in a four-page spread of JMG Lifestyle Magazine and a large-scale work whet to the Isabis Art Expo in 2019. St. Louis Magazine listed “Bipolar Holiday: Kyoto Girls” when the Walker-Cunningham Fine Art pop-up exhibit was named to the A-List in July 2020.
Holiday's work can be found in numerous private and public collections. He lives in St. Louis City...

Couple, Oil & Acrylic on Canvas by Modern Indian Artist “In Stock”
By Rabin Mondal
Located in Kolkata, West Bengal
Rabin Mondal - Couple ; Oil & Acrylic on Canvas
42 x 36 inches ; 2015 (unframed) ( Typically frames to be 48 x 42 inches with a 3 inch frame )
(Shipment will be in roll form)
Style : Mondal`s works are mainly figurative. He paints in bold strokes and creates tableaux, whose themes are universal. The faces of his figures stare at you out of the canvas, strange and pensive, but also strong and defiant. Not yet beaten, surviving by sheer force of spirit. He mostly uses dense pigments in blacks and reds, with only occasional moss green and turquoise colors seeping through.
About the Artist & his works :
Born : Rabin Mondal (1929 – 2019) was born in Howrah, Kolkata.
Education :
1959 : Completed his Art Appreciation Course, Ashutosh Museum, Kolkata University, Kolkata.
1956-58 : Attended Evening Classes, Indian College of Art and Draughtmanship, Kolkata.
1952 : Bachelor of Commerce, Vidyasagar College, Kolkata University, Kolkata.
Art Career : The industrial belt of Howrah, with its inherent tendency towards violence, anguish and suffering influenced him deeply, and found its way into his works. So did ugly street battles fought by political parties. Mondal discovered that his artistic temperament was out of keeping with the hostile environment and situation.
Besides a debilitating knee injury in his childhood created a sense of isolation in the artist, which also finds expression in his canvas. He says what saved him from sheer madness was his talent in art. In 1949, he joined the Vidyasagar College of Art in Kolkata. At that time, a festival of French artists was being held in the city. It exposed him to the works of French modernist artists. Prior to this, he had no exposure to the international art world. He was only familiar with different schools of Indian art, particularly the Bengal school.
As a young painter, Mondal was attracted by Jamini Roy`s folk style and Rabindranath Tagore`s disquieting paintings and drawings. But the show by French artists was virtually a turning point in his artistic career. "This was like opening a window to an astounding, astonishing, unsuspected world," he says. This encounter with avant-garde Western art helped him to later incorporate elements from it in his own work.
Art Works : Mondal worked out of his Howrah studio, churning out a series of "kings" and "queens" painted with oil on canvas. These are perhaps Mondal’s best known works, depicting tragic looking figures, seemingly suffering from paranoia and fear, yet ironically termed kings and queens. Some of the highlights of this series were the works Man Acting as King, King Being Appeased, King Making Confession, and King and his Assassin. Mondal also produced a series of "deities", which sometimes seem to merge thematically with his "queens". The artist’s deities are generally depicted with radiate crowns, whereas his kings and queens are not. Other favorite subjects of the artist were the brothel and the harem, which he depicted in canvases such as Event in Red Light Area and Orgy.
For someone who hates all forms of pretentiousness, he has done a series of painting on queens and empresses. "Though they belong to the past, queens live in virtual isolation, and I feel sorry for them," he says. "It is this isolation that makes the queen, for me, a fascinating subject." One of the criticisms leveled against him is that his works are not pleasing to the eye. To which he replies, "Painting is for communication and not for decoration."

Rabin has had several solo exhibitions:
