About the Item

Fabrizio Lavagna was born on December 18, 1971 in Savona. Began to frequent the circles of artistic contemporaries since 2004, when he enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara by attending the painting course by Omar Galliani. In 2006 he was the winner of the Erasmus scholarship from the University of Bellas Artes de Murcia, an experience that will affect his entire artistic production. In 2008, he graduated with a thesis entitled "Pictorial materials in their epochal mutability" obtaining a score of 110 with honors. In the same year he was invited to participate in a master's degree in sacred art Stauros at the Museum of Sacred Art and the contemporary island of San Gabriel Teramo. From 2008 to 2010 he participated in the "Advanced Course in the Art of Liturgy" with artists such as Casciello Angelo Giuliano Giuliani at Scopoli Castle. In 2011, he finished his studies and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara with 110 with honors with a thesis entitled “Materials in the contemporary.” Since 2010 he lives and works in France. In the works of Fabrizio Lavagna, the art flows in the realizations that mix elegant female bodies with materials of everyday use, creating paradoxes of aesthetic impact. During his career, the artist has experimented with different techniques and different types of media, from simple sheets of raw cotton, through second-hand jeans, to finally pieces of used tires. The chosen materials are the pivot around which the artist's creativity develops, losing their daily functionality will attract another, finding a place in a work of art and becoming the object. Lavagna brings art to its more real dimension, where the self-referentiality that characterizes contemporary art is left aside in favor of the immediacy that characterizes all of his artistic production.

Helene and Eric Bess are a team who have been collaborating for over 20 years. Both are professional artists with extensive experience in both the commercial and fine art fields. They presently work out of their studio in Florida, creating original art for gallery display, fine art crafts and taking commissions for murals & embellishments. Helene was born in Canada in 1949. She studied art in Europe as a young adult and attended Phoenix Pratt School of Design in New York and St. Petersburg Community College in Florida. She owned and operated an art studio (“Artistic Endeavors”) in Melbourne, Fl. for five years. She started doing murals and embellishments (residential and commercial) from 1992 till present. She considers her early life in Europe the major source of her artistic influence as well as the works of Modigliani. Eric was born in Missouri in 1950. He started drawing literally as an infant and has never stopped. He was taking commissions for book covers & wall designs in his teens and studied art at Auburn University and The University of Alabama. He taught art in public schools in Alabama in the ‘70s. He worked as art director at Huntsville Educational Television for 6 years, as art director at Southern Sportswear in Daytona for 9 years, at Creative Signs & Designs in Flagler, Fl. for 6 years, and as a freelance artist and co-owner (with his wife Helene) of “BessStudio” (formerly “Artistic Innovations Inc.”) since 1998. Energy
Located in Ibadan, Oyo
Oladimeji Alabi, a Nigerian contemporary artist, created a thought-provoking artwork titled "Energy," which emphasizes the essence of energy, both positive and negative, according to African spirituality. The artwork is a vivid depiction of the concept of karma, which is fundamental to African spirituality, and the law of nature, which states that what you give out, you get back in turn. The central piece of the artwork is a painting of a human figure, seemingly in a state of contemplation with her flowing hair. "What you give out, you get back in turn." This phrase is a direct reference to the concept of karma, which is prevalent in African spirituality. Karma is the belief that our actions have consequences, and that every action we take has an effect on our lives and the lives of those around us. Furthermore, the artwork emphasizes the importance of energy, both positive and negative, and how it affects our lives. According to African spirituality, everything in the universe is interconnected, and energy flows through all things. Positive energy is associated with good fortune, success, and happiness, while negative energy is associated with misfortune, failure, and sadness. In conclusion, Oladimeji Alabi's artwork "Energy" is a beautiful and thought-provoking piece that embodies the essence of African spirituality. The artwork's central message of karma and the law of nature is a powerful reminder that our actions have consequences and that we must be mindful of the energy we put out into the world. The artwork is a testament to the artist's skill and creativity, and it is sure to leave a lasting impression on all who view it.
