About the Item
Acrylic on canvas depicting a party on a New York terrace with Ionic columns and the New York skyline in the background. The work was commissioned by the Fortunoff family and is published on pages 100 and 101 of "The art of Giancarlo Impiglia" catalog published by Rizzoli New York.
The characters are faceless, as is characteristic of Impiglia's artistic production. His production follows the pictorial style of Art Deco, a phenomenon that affected the period between 1919 and 1940. This is a style characterized by geometric lines and angular shapes.
The work consists of two canvases measuring: right panel 236x303x5.5 cm and left panel 224x303x5.5 cm.
The work is in a good state of preservation and has undergone cleaning of the pictorial surface. Each panel is signed and dated in the lower right corner. On the back are various notes with: title, author's signature, date, and directions on panel placement. The work was deprived of its original frame to facilitate transportation from New York to Italy, for this reason a high-tech, light-alloy, fully detachable frame was constructed.

Three publications are dedicated to his work: Giancarlo Impiglia, Paintings for the Queens & Collected Works (2012), The Art of Giancarlo Impiglia (1995), and Giancarlo Impiglia: Recent Work (1982).
