Outstanding, vibrant original oil on canvas painting with parts of flag collage by the Brazilian artist, Glauco Pinto de Morais. Signed lower right and dated 1972/73. Condition is very good. Small old puncture repair. See last photo. Signed and dated and titled verso. There is narrow gold leaf strip frame most likely original to the painting. Overall 39.5 by 29.5 inches framed. Glauco Pinto de Morais (Passo Fundo, 1928 — São Paulo, 1990) was a Brazilian painter. He began to exhibit individually in 1968. From the 1970s onwards, he regularly took part in various collectives, including the São Paulo Biennials of 1975 and 1979, and several editions of Panorama da Arte Brasileira at MAM-SP, between 1976 and 1986 . Abroad, he participated in important exhibitions in Uruguay, Japan and Belgium, and received a special room at the II Bienal de Havana, in 1986. A critically acclaimed artist, his Locomotive series has become his best-known work.
