Grace Ramsey is a self-taught painter based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Before establishing herself as a visual artist, she spent over a decade as a circus performer, an experience to which she attributes her bold color palettes and sweeping lines. Ramsey’s work explores the elusiveness of personal identity and the rich experience of implied emotional narratives. Emotion is, in fact, central for the artist, and she aims to evoke passionate reactions from her viewers through a dynamic balance of representation and abstraction.
