About the Item

Nature Morte aux Fruits 60 x 49 cm Oil and Acrylic on Canvas "Nature Morte aux Fruits" is a vibrant exploration of still life through the lens of Diachronic Cubism. This artwork reimagines traditional still life themes, blending fragmented geometric forms with an organic flow that captures the vitality of the subject. The composition layers multiple temporal and spatial perspectives, as per the artist’s unique cubist style. With a rich palette of greens, yellows, and earthy tones contrasted by dynamic blues, this piece evokes the interplay of light and movement in a still-life setting. The fruit and objects are deconstructed and reassembled, creating a harmonious yet dynamic narrative deeply rooted in French cultural and artistic traditions. Perfect for: Collectors and enthusiasts of modern cubist art who seek innovative takes on classic still life themes. Ideal for contemporary spaces that value bold, dynamic compositions and thought-provoking design. Keywords: Greg Mathias, Diachronic Cubism, still life painting, oil and acrylic, geometric abstraction, French art. About the Artist: Grégoire Mathias, graduate of the National School of Fine Arts in Paris (ENSBA - École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts), is exhibiting his work at Sotheby's gallery in Périgueux, as well as in several galleries across Paris, New York, and Dublin. Mathias is the creator of diachronic cubism, an unexplored branch of cubism that depicts landscapes, interiors, everyday life scenes, and, most notably, the concept of time itself. This unique style is characterized by the deconstruction of subjects and light over specific periods of time. Since 2020, he has been designing UN posters through the World Federation for the United Nations Associations (WFUNA), becoming the first French artist to contribute to the organization after Picasso, Chagall, Miró, and Vasarely.

Composition cubiste by G. Mathias – Geometric Abstract Cubism in Blue and Ochre
Located in PÉRIGUEUX, FR
Composition Cubiste (Cubist Composition) Acrylic on canvas 60 x 50 cm A bold and structured cubist composition by Grégoire Mathias, balancing angular abstraction and muted vibrancy through ochre, slate blue, and cream tones. A refined homage to classical Cubism, ideal for collectors and interior designers alike. This acrylic on canvas painting titled Composition cubiste by French artist Greg Mathias exemplifies his distinctive interpretation of geometric abstraction. Influenced by the analytical Cubist movement, the work distills reality into a symphony of angles and layered planes. Triangular and faceted shapes intersect and overlap in a carefully constructed composition, creating visual depth without relying on traditional perspective. Mathias plays with a restrained yet impactful color palette of ochre, slate blue, pale teal, charcoal, and warm neutrals, giving the piece a harmonious architectural balance. The composition invites the eye to travel across textures and interlocking forms—an exploration of spatial tension and rhythm. Though the artist is best known for his Diachronic Cubism, this painting is rooted in a more analytical approach. It recalls early 20th-century abstraction, where reality is fragmented into geometry and form is prioritized over narrative. The result is a piece both timeless and contemporary—suited for refined interiors that embrace strong visual identity. Perfect For: Interior designers sourcing geometric abstract wall art for modern or transitional spaces. A standout piece for accent walls, entryways, hallways, or home libraries. Ideal for collectors seeking statement cubist art in a classic color scheme. Especially suitable for art-forward interiors with modernist or Bauhaus elements. Keywords: Greg Mathias, Composition cubiste, French abstract art, analytical cubism, geometric abstraction, modern cubism painting, acrylic on canvas, blue ochre abstract, cubist wall art, contemporary European art, interior design wall piece, vertical wall art...
