About the Item

Gregory Kitterle's Arch and Pole is a 11.8 x 12-inch ink, oil, and pencil painting on board. It oscillates between figuration and abstraction, in a tridimensional space alternating between darkness and light, like a path into the woods. This small work, titled Arch and Pole, has the feeling of an ancient fresco where the imagery has been slowly fading out. The drawn elements emerge as the viewer carefully observes the surface. The overall terra-cotta color is lit up by the green and white floating pole that gives to the scene a surreal feeling. The artist writes: "Irregularities of my painting surfaces, stains, blotches and scratches, created while working become specters that rise to tell their tale; each as individual as the eyes that behold them. My conversing with these specters of the various materials is like wandering in a labyrinth. Some are clear, offering easy images to share. Others sunken only whispering their possibilities. With its depth sometimes as thin as a sheet of paper, yet one can wander in it for miles and many hours. The images in my work are from tales told to me during my spectral wanderings in this labyrinth of surface."

Presagio - Earth Tone Abstract Painting, South American, Geometric and Organic
By Alfredo Aya
Located in New York, NY
This vibrant abstract painting features a dynamic blend of earthy oranges, golds, and soft blues, with organic shapes that seem to emerge and dissolve across the canvas. The composition evokes a sense of movement and spontaneity, making it a perfect statement piece for a contemporary living room or office space. The artist’s use of color creates a warm, inviting atmosphere, while the fluid shapes add energy and intrigue to the environment. Titled "Presagio", meaning “omen” in Spanish, the painting invites contemplation. The shifting forms and colors suggest a moment of transition or revelation, making it ideal for spaces that foster thought and reflection. The abstract nature of the work draws comparisons to the vibrant, geometric compositions of Carlos Rojas...

Obvious Reasons - Abstract Versus Figurative Painting with Aqua Blue Colors
By Parris Jaru
Located in New York, NY
Parris Jaru's Obvious Reasons is a 24 x 20 inches oil painting. The main colors are yellow, blue and brown. The surface is defined by a thick impasto of paint, made with plant-based pigments that Jaru collects himself during his long exploratory trips through India. This painting is part of a new series that concentrates on using natural colors only. Natural Indigo, Turmeric, Hibiscus, Beet Root, Rosemary Leaf, Aloe Extract, and Holi Powders to name a few, mixed with Babul Tree Resin. Though the overall composition is abstract, there is a perception of figuration. A very thin wavy white line runs through the contours of the figures, defining an image within the image. Parris was born in NY and grew up in St. Ann's Bay, Jamaica until he was ten years old. Partly Jamaican and Blackfoot Indian...
