The back well straight, hair tidily combed, in her schoolgirl blouse, the little girl is looking at us, with a hint of a smile. As in many of his portraits, Jean Billon uses a tight framing and a plain background. Only his touch varies from one painting to another to suit the personality of the model. The strength of his frontal pause is supported by the intense color of the background. A frozen image that doesn't prevent guessing the cheerful character of this child.
