About the Item

"Writings I" is a work that invites reflection on the nature of writing and the human creative process. With a vertical format divided into two distinct parts, the painting displays a composition rich in symbolism and meaning. In the lower part, there is the head of a Roman sculpture, a woman who evokes the figure of a goddess, symbolizing writing and human thought. This representation suggests the ancestral connection between humanity and written expression, highlighting the importance of intelligence and thought in the cultural development of humanity. The head of the sculpture is superimposed on a background that appears to contain indecipherable writing, composed of signs that evoke the diversity of languages and writing systems throughout history. In contrast, the upper area of the painting presents a square that houses a warm gray background, from which a large carmine stain emerges. This stain symbolizes the idea that takes shape on paper, the creative act that gives life to writing and literature. It reflects the process of literary creation, where ideas take form and are expressed through words, leading to the transmission of knowledge and human experience.
