Alberto Standing 1 is a contemporary nude painting by Judith Brenner. This is an original drawing from life on paper using pastel , ink and watercolour pencil. The idea is to capture the essence of the pose using line and colour. The figure is standing yet has a dynamic presence.
My work uses the notion of alchemy, a seemingly magical process of transformation, creatio, or combination, in order to respond visually to my environments and life experiences and life. My paintings are concerned with translating the power of my surroundings through a transmutation of material through process. Empowered by the temporal nature of the raw material terrain, the paintings evolve continuously – my use of rusting metal powders allow my paintings to mirror the ebb and flow of the dynamic landscape.
