The subjects - beach paintings mostly - of Karine Bartoli's paintings are inspired by photographs of the southern light where the artist lived and have as a subject the interaction between characters and their surroundings.

Bartoli enrolled at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Marseille and graduated in 1997. Since then she has devoted her time to practice her art of painting. Bartoli's works are figurative and are challenged nowadays by the imagery of new media, which can produce instantly seductive visual results. Her subjects are mainly beaches and scenes from everyday life. Most of Bartoli's paintings are inspired by photographs of the southern lights where the artist lived, Corsica and the interaction between characters and their surroundings.
