About

Acrylic and gold leaves on canvas. Colours, contrasts, effects of texture and the impact of pure shapes and lines. Stylistic paintings mixes acrylic with goldfoils. Like urban street art, repeating the same procedures and pictures, just changing the colour compositions, the sizes and the materials. The pictural work is a sensitive and original combination, fluctuating between Design and Minimalism, as well as it borrows and salutes Pop art, Art Déco, Byzantin Art and Street Art. Inspired by Blek le Rat, a French graffiti artist, who was one of the first graffiti artists in Paris, and has been described as the "Father of stencil graffiti" and Banksy, this painting is a tribute to the rat, the "the only free animal in the city", and one which "spreads the plague everywhere, just like street art". ("rat" as an anagram for "art")
