Mirrored to create two identical figures, a woman in a green swimming cap and bathing suit raises her hand to her forehead, as if scanning the horizon. Colorful, bold shapes and static lines create a striking backdrop for the diver. The composition explores themes of symmetry, nostalgia, and what it means to see oneself in a new light.This piece stands alone but also works as a diptych with "Inner Seeing."

About the Artist
Artist Leticia Lacy reimagines vintage nostalgia through a modern, female perspective. Her figurative compositions explore risk, resilience, and transformation. Before turning full-time to painting, she worked as a color designer and art director for some of animation’s most iconic shows, including Samurai Jack, Star Wars: Clone Wars, and The Powerpuff Girls. "I spent over 20 years making well-known animated TV shows, and that experience has pushed my work to be bold in color, composition, and conveying a story or feeling," says Leticia. She works in an art space inside Cope Studios in Glendale, California, where palm trees visible from her window often find their way into her paintings. When not making art, Leticia spends time with her husband, two children, and a lively mix of pets: a dog, a bearded dragon, a crested gecko, and a tortoise.
