Born in Paris in 1888, Louise Alix (painter, decorative artist of landscapes, still lifes and portraits), studied under Yvonne Delattre and Henri Zo. She exhibited regularly at the Salon des Artistes Français between 1926 and 1941, receiving a commendation in 1928, the Bernheim de Villiers prize in 1933, and the silver medal for applied arts in 1935. She also occasionally exhibited her work at the prestigious Salon des Indépendants. This large body of work we have acquired, which has laid hidden away in an attic all these years, represents a wonderful opportunity for collectors to acquire such beautiful and original French works, all of which have lain undiscovered and unseen; until now.
