Olio su tela. Firmato e datato in basso a sinistra sulla tela laterale sinistra.
La grande composizione è costituita da tre tele separate, di cui quella centrale sviluppata verticalmente (dimensioni 220 x 128 cm) e arrotondata sul margine superiore, le due laterali sviluppate orizzontalmente e sagomate agli angoli (dimensioni 150 x 328 cm).
La tela centrale è dominata dalla figura di Venere, che erompe nuda dalla schiuma del mare, con un braccio levato a coprirsi gli occhi a protezione della luce dell'alba; sulle due tele laterali, assiste all'evento, con stupore e tripudio gioioso, una schiera di tritoni, sirene, ninfe del mare, mostri marini, capeggiati dal dio Poseidone, riconoscibile a sinistra dal tridente che impugna.
Le figure si stagliano sullo sfondo di mare e cielo, fusi in un continuum luminoso di gradazioni del colore azzurro, in cui si insinua la luce rosata dell'alba, a illuminare la scena.
Formatosi alla scuola di Cesare Tallone, il Brignoli apprese da lui il naturalismo derivante dalla tradizione veneta, l'osservazione della natura, la pennellata decisa, i forti contrasti di luce.
Pealtro, dopo diversi viaggi in Africa, cominciati nel 1922, il Brignoli si avvicinò alla pittura orientalista, ma rifuggì da forme di retorica esotica, per rivivere piuttosto il nuovo soggetto con un' attenta ricerca dei colori e degli effetti luministici sul paesaggio.
Quest'opera, appartenente al periodo già "africano" dell'artista, risente di questa impronta, nelle scelte cromatiche luminose e chiare.
Per le sue dimensioni e la composizione delle tre tele, risulta di grande impatto scenografico: proveniente da una grande villa bresciana, ove era esposta sulla imponente scalinata, era probabilmente stata concepita e creata appositamente come elemento di decoro su misura.
Le tele sono presentate in cornici dorate coeve, mancanti di alcune parti.
