This is a self-portrait of the artist that describes a bit of his background and his inspiration for what led him to become an artist. This painting is done using acrylic paint, with a very thin layer applied. The technique used for the painting is chiaroscuro, using strong contrasts of light to depict the image and create a more dramatic effect. Heavily inspired by Caravaggio, Aleman mimics the use of color to create the skin tones and shadows that fall on it.
