Frank SchoonoverColonial Philadelphia (Colonial Couple)
About the Item
Colonial Philadelphia is one of Schoonover's earliest, if not his earliest major painting. Done very much in the style of his mentor and instructor, Howard Pyle. In an attached image, Schoonover can be seen sitting in his studio below this particular painting. Schoonover was approximately 21 years old when he painted it.
The painting has been lined. It comes with an antique Louis XIV style gold leaf frame, in excellent condition.
