About the Item

“Through painting, I am interested in reflecting on how time has been—and can be—represented through images and the connections between individuals. The concept of time has been explored from different perspectives: subjective time, ex- pressed through objects that shape the intimate landscape of do- mestic spaces, bearing witness to a life and the appropriation of a specific place; social time, structured through schedules, calen- dars, and agendas, as an effort to achieve a collective understand- ing of it; mysterious, natural, cyclical time, which exists beyond our control—the kind of time that unfolds in our lives whether we acknowledge it or not, such as the growth of plants, the cycle of days and nights, and the time of the universe; and geological time, which holds all eras simultaneously beneath our feet, revealing the ambiguity and materiality of time itself. I like to think of color as a field of connections that allows viewers to engage visually and create their own relational experiences. Color is fundamental to my practice, serving both as an open-ended exploration of infinite palette possibilities and a means to construct a layered architecture that generates varying depths on the surface. Researching historical sources such as Medieval manuscripts or scientific studies in astronomy and geology is also an integral part of my practice—not only to inform the work but also to use archival imagery as a reference, to reinterpret and re-signify it into new pictorial narratives.”
