"At Sunrise in the Mountains" Oil Painting
Located in Denver, CO
Ulrich Gleiter's (EUR based) "At Sunrise in the Mountains" is an oil painting that depicts the textural hillside of a mountain landscape with blue skies overhead. Bio/Artist Statement: German-born artist Ulrich Gleiter (b. 1977) is noted for his landscapes. His style is sometimes reminiscent of German expressionism and the Russian impressionists. He first studied at the Dresden Academy of Arts and later at the Repin Academy in Saint Petersburg, Russia. His work has been recognized with awards in the USA and in Russia and been featured in books and magazines. "Ulrich Gleiter is a citizen of the world. Born in Saarbrücken, Germany, he pursued his undergraduate studies at Dresden’s Academy of Fine Arts, where he learned to paint with the bold, colorful strokes handed down from the early 20th-century German expressionists. Students there prioritized their individuality — no one but you could have made this picture, they were told. Gleiter then absorbed a different view of artistry during his exchange year at Moscow’s Surikov Institute, followed by six more years at the Repin Institute in St. Petersburg. Today Gleiter divides time between Germany, Russia, and the United States, where he has become much admired among plein-airists in such scenic places as Colorado, California, and Wyoming. In our era of diplomatic tensions, when Crimea and Russia appear regularly in the headlines, Gleiter feels a renewed appreciation for nature’s timelessness — for its inspiring capacity to rise above the ins-and-outs of man-made problems. Today, he says, “I often think about the history of an area where I am painting, about how many troubles and beautiful things may have happened there. Most importantly, I am humbled to observe how natural forces never stop moving.” Gleiter turns his searching eye not only to wilderness, but also to the banalities of urban life — to parked cars, the glinting sprawl of an automobile dealer’s lot, retail stores, and even cargo ships. There, too — as in his portraits, nudes, and still lifes — he manages to find abstracted beauty and emotional significance in the interactions of light, color, and air." Burning Desire - Sable Mare with Flower & Butterfly Mane & Amber-Rose Background
Located in Chicago, IL
The sable colored mare bows her head to allow the viewer a better view of her intricate mane which is enhanced with red roses. Red-winged black birds flit around her, a symbol of protection, good luck and even prosperity. The amber rose background intensifies the softness of the horse's coat and the overall aesthetic. This painting is unframed, please contact the gallery for framing options. Rose Freymuth-Frazier Burning Desire oil on canvas 50h x 32w in 127h x 81.28w cm RFF048 Rose Freymuth-Frazier Employing the techniques of the past in the service of contemporary exploration, I seek to add a fresh voice to the sometimes venerable, sometimes dusty and archaic tradition of large-scale figurative painting, while subtly addressing the mythology, objectification and subjugation of women. My subjects are at first glance close to home-new mothers, friends, lovers, artists, dancers-but are then quickly placed at a distance via edgy modification, rigorous technique, minimal contexts and composition, and idiosyncratic use of color. I am also interested in social presentation, artifice, and simulation as they relate to my subjects. I hope to peel away a gossamer thin layer of reality, not just to document the real but also to reveal what might be. BIOGRAPHY Given my restless history, it is curious that I became a figurative painter in New York City. My maternal Grandparents fled Hitler's Germany in the late 1930's. After being refused entry to the United States, they were welcomed into the Dominican Republic, where they happily resided in a small orderly bungalow of their own design and made their living as studio photographer and cheese maker...

Union - A Group of Uniformed Soldiers Standing in an Open Field, Oil on Linen
Located in Chicago, IL
A group of uniformed soldiers gather in a grassy field. We see cannons yet must bring our own decisions about what is about to transpire. Painted in the loose style of Winslow Homer, "Union" by William Blake captures a scene in a Civil War Reenactment as the Union Army's Artist Reporter. Portraying Homer as an Artist-reporter, Blake has to be more than merely good draftsmen. He has to be an astute observer, have an instinct for story and drama, the ability to sketch quickly and accurately, and no small amount of daring, as he faces battles first hand. As for the paintings, William uses materials and methods of the Civil War era. The linen on which he paints was in use at that time as well as the tubed oil paints. He is one of the few artists who tacks his canvas to the stretchers using similar tacks that would have been used by Winslow Homer. While he leaves the works unframed for this reason, the artwork could certainly be framed. Please contact the gallery for framing options. William Blake Union, 2022 oil on linen 24h x 36w in 60.96h x 91.44w cm WIL034 Known for his highly charged depictions of Civil War reenactments, William Blake’s powerful paintings show the recursive bodies of reenactors as they gesture across time. Participating in over 40 reenactment events, Blake currently interprets as the artist-correspondent Winslow Homer at these battle reenactments. He immerses himself in the materiality of his own obsession by constructing period clothes, camping on battlefields, and documenting the reenactment similar to Homer’s documentation of the authentic war. The figures in the paintings reverberate the past with respect and with a desire to educate, humble, and play. With each annual iteration of American Civil War reenactments, the reanimation of the past encourages a review of history and aids in its continuous revision. For his second exhibition with Gallery Victor Armendariz, William Blake presents A Great Battlefield, a collection of new paintings depicting US Marines...

"La danza de los salvajes II" dogs, figurative, pastel colors
Located in Ciudad de México, MX
Gonzalo García’s work explores the influence of Western culture and European painting on Mexican art, focusing on 17th- and 18th-century still lifes, Flemish Baroque bodegones, and more recently, 15th-century medieval painting. He reimagines symbolic elements, textiles, and furniture from these styles within his own perspective, creating pastel-toned works that contrast historical aesthetics with his personal experiences as a contemporary queer artist. In recent years, García has developed a project examining the dialogue between 1970s Mexican cinema and contemporary painting. Drawing on films as cultural records, he uses them to reflect on memory and the societal concerns of their time. His series Cachorros intertwines two sources: Alfredo González...
