Reminiscent of the Fauvist movement and Italian classicism, Italian artist Giuseppe Beddru’s bold outlines, dynamic brushstrokes and contrasting use of color make his work visually exciting. His work is extremely personal as well, drawing upon the Arab presence on the island where he grew up and his own Italian heritage. His paintings are indicative of self-discovery and emotional awareness, while also focusing on color, composition, and technical skill. This balance of visual dynamics and emotional response is essential to Beddru’s work.
Many of Beddru’s multi-media paintings include the visual motifs of classical Greek bas-relief sculpture, flattened within the confines of Plexiglas. Athletes and female portraits in profile are reminiscent of coins and popular classical imagery. After having admired and studied the works of the great masters, Beddru left Italy to continue his practice abroad.
This large vibrant one-of-a-kind 62 inch tall by 42 inch wide artwork is painted behind and on top of several layers of Plexiglas. Beddru's pictorial subjects are represented through ink-based mixed media, applied via reverse painting techniques inspired by Italian painters from the seventeenth century. The eye of the observer is simultaneously caught by both a fascinating chromatic balance and the mystery of enigmatic figures who, from the depths of a mythological past, bring secretive symbols to our contemporary present as messages to decipher.

The title “Mumbo Jumbo, is inspired by Ishmael Reed’s book under the same titled, where he attempted to capsulate the complexities of the African American experience. A series of very colorful and playful works, focusing on the adventures of one figure named “Cappy”. The name is derived from Deceus family home town, Cap Haitien. Carl Smith is originally from Santa Fe, New Mexico, and studied art at Cooper Union in New York. He has exhibited his work in France, Germany, Norway, Holland, USA and England in numerous solo shows or as a member of a four man team called TABI. His works have been represented by Kunstwarenhaus Zurich since 2000 and Artspace Warehouse Los Angeles since 2010. He was chosen as one of five artists who exhibited at the Berliner Liste, invited to exhibit in the 2012 Paris Mac art fair as a featured guest of the organizers.

Sally K. is an Ohio-born artist of Lebanese heritage who spent her formative years in Saudi Arabia before attending high school and college in Beirut. She graduated with distinction from the Lebanese American University of Beirut, earning a BA in Fine Arts. After moving back to the United States in 2013, Sally K. and her family eventually relocated once more to Qatar in 2019. Amy Smith is a self-educated contemporary artist. Born in New Jersey, she moved to Los Angeles where she found inspiration, mentors, and support in the Street Art community.
In her Collage Portrait Series, Amy Smith uses photography, and layers of hand cut stencils, and torn recycled fashion magazine pieces to simultaneously represent her love of fashion and her contempt for excessive consumerism. In addition, she showcases female portraits to empower and unify, creating a space to feel connected to oneself and to each other.

Virginie Schroeder is an innovative artist based in Quebec, Canada. She prefers things not to be visible immediately In order to perceive the works, the viewer must feel them and open up all of their senses in order to enjoy the emotion of the work. Schroeder urges the viewer to enter the work, allowing their emotions to be absorbed into its subject. Her paintings are made to inspire new artistic visions while impressing their stunning technicality to the public.
Schroeder seeks an invented, unstructured, different, and yet popular vision, and hopes to awaken our senses in the search for her works. When a face, an animal, a landscape, or any other subject is removed from its linear structure, it acquires a completely different form, a different identity, dimension, and a new prestige. One does not recognize it at first sight; it emerges as the very process of observation. It is here that the magic occurs, as the viewer consciously discovers a work of abstract character in vivid color which plays upon the tension between the figurative and the imaginary.
Schroeder's original artworks have been exhibited in galleries and art fairs internationally and have been acquired by prestigious collectors around the globe.
